Knowledge Transfer Networks have been set up by government, industry and academia to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience between government, industry and the British public. They bring together diverse organizations and provide activities and initiatives that promote the exchange of knowledge and the stimulation of innovation in these communities. Knowledge Transfer Networks encourage the active participation of all networks currently operating in their areas and aim to establish connections with networks in other fields which have common interests. The first Knowledge Transfer Networks were set up in 2007 and the network continues to grow. They are active in sectors, technologies and market based areas and they interact strongly with the government’s improvement programmes and overall strategies.
